Il \u00e9tait destin\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u00e9curiser les routes commerciales entre la Transylvanie et la Valachie. Cette place forte a \u00e9t\u00e9 remani\u00e9e et r\u00e9nov\u00e9e \u00e0 de nombreuses reprise par les familles r\u00e9gnantes, pour prendre l&rsquo;aspect romantique et r\u00e9sidentiel qui est le sien aujourd&rsquo;hui. On vient de loin pour s&rsquo;immerger dans l&rsquo;ambiance vampire. Toutefois, les Roumains n&rsquo;aimaient pas trop l&rsquo;image qui est donn\u00e9e de leur h\u00e9ros national. Car avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre caricatur\u00e9 sous les traits d&rsquo;un vampire par un auteur irlandais, Vlad \u0162epe\u015f \u00e9tait un furieux et cruel chef de guerre, luttant contre l&rsquo;intrusion ottomane. Le ch\u00e2teau de Bran sert de d\u00e9cor \u00e0 un film TV de 1984, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Claude Grindberg, <a href=\"http:\/\/mediatheques.quimper-bretagne-occidentale.bzh\/iguana\/www.main.cls?surl=search&amp;p=af3e6a0a-94ab-11e8-a80b-0050568050bf#recordId=1.280946&amp;srchDb=1,4\"><em>Zacharius<\/em><\/a>, d&rsquo;apr\u00e8s le roman de Jules Verne, <em>Ma\u00eetre Zacharius ou l\u2019Horloger qui avait perdu son \u00e2me<\/em>.
